Bradley Cooper, voted People magazine's "Sexiest Man Alive" in 2011, is reluctantly ready to hand over his title to another actor and thinks it's Richard Gere's turn.
"I'm in therapy three times a week, but I think I'll get through it," Cooper jokes to People about his reign coming to an end next month, when the publication will select a new celebrity for the honor. While attending the Hollywood Film Awards last night in Beverly Hills, Cooper was asked who should succeed him, and noted the ideal candidate was also on the same red carpet.
"Maybe [Richard Gere]," he offered. Gere, who was being honored with the Hollywood Career Achievement Award at the event, was previously named the mag's "Sexiest Man Alive" in 1999.
"He's sexy," Cooper says of the 63-year-old. "You could take it from there."
