First Look: Robyn's "Call Your Girlfriend"
It's no secret that I love Robyn more than almost anyone else in my life (even more than a lot of my extended family -- but shhhh! -- don't tell them that). After spending a weekend with her in Palm Springs for our Hot List profile, I fell even more in love with her. She was one of the coolest, bad ass-est, no attitude-having, brilliant, laid back people I have ever had the pleasure of writing about. And like I said in my piece, it's especially refreshing to have a pop star who puts the music ahead of all the other bull shit -- especially considering what we've been thrown by some other singers/musicians lately.
Case in point: The adorable, enjoyably simple, just-released video for "Call Your Girlfriend." No hidden meanings, no (unnecessary) dramatics -- just Robyn kicking dance's ass in a warehouse:
I give up, Robyn. You win -- my heart, my checkbook, hell -- I'll even come over and clean your toilet if you want.
