Viktor and Rolf Make Us Say "Awwwww!"

WWD did a profile on design team Viktor & Rolf as they shoot the ad for their fourth perfume Flowerbomb. In it, the fashionable duo melt our hearts a bit when they explain the little ritual they have whenever they fly:

Whenever the Amsterdam-based Viktor & Rolf designers fly, they always touch pinkie to pinkie, in a handshake of sorts, each time they land. "It started out a very, very, very long time ago as a full-hand high-five," explains Horsting. "Now, it's become like this." They demonstrate for clarification. "And if we travel separately," adds Snoeren, "we always text each other when we land." Horsting chimes back in: "We're very superstitious."

Is that not the cutest? We die inside a little. They also discuss how the release of perfumes has allowed them to expand their business, including more extravagant shows (something of a calling card for the pair) and the ability to open more stores. They also chat briefly about the freedoms allowed to them once they were snatched up by Staff International and their plans for Art Basel. It's a good read, but the story about touching pinkies is too, too cute. Perfect way to end the week.
