Out 100 honorees Joe Wilson and Dean Hamer's Emmy Award-winning documentary Out in the Silence has been selected to close the Teaneck International Film Festival in New Jersey. The film festival's executive director Jeremy Lentz felt that showing this film would be especially potent considering the recent suicide of Tyler Clementi and the controversy over a same-sex wedding listing in the New Jersey Jewish Standard newspaper. "The purpose of the screening is to expand public awareness about the difficulties lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered people face in suburbia and small town America," Lentz said.
Out in the Silence will be shown at Puffin Cultural Forum on Sunday, November 21st at 8:15pm.
20 Puffin Way, Teaneck, New Jersey 07666
Tickets are $5, if purchased ahead of time (you can purchase tickets here), or $7 at the door.
