It would seem that Burberry Prorsum's golden boy slash creative director Christopher Bailey was unmistakably influenced by two different aspects of James Cameron's winter blockbuster Avatar. Unfortunately, one of them was not in fact the color of the alien Na'avi's skin, or else this post would be called "Blueberry London," wouldn't it? A real shame.
No, the first Avatar-must have was in fact the post-retro hype of 3-D technology and the other was the whole separation between the industrialized colonists and the natives. So, to keep this theme of segregation going, Bailey is organizing premiere viewing parties of Burberry's London Fall 2010 Fashion Week collection for the It of It-RVSPers in New York, Paris, Dubai and Tokyo with live streaming in 3-D. For those not invited? You can just watch online in regular old 2-D just like your parents did back in the 60's.
So forget about collecting your Burberry proofs of purchase and putting them in envelope to send in for your 3-D Glasses and Tom Guinness Taylor decoder ring -- this blockbuster is invite only.
