Mariah Carey debuts her new single, "Almost Home," which she co-wrote and co-produced for the upcoming Disney film, Oz the Great and Powerful, starring James Franco, Michelle Williams, Mila Kunis, and Rachel Weisz--in theaters March 8.
"[The song] has a message that works beautifully with the film," Carey said earlier this month in a release. "It's a feel-good record; it gives you the feeling of reaching your home and being with people that you love."
It is an up-tempo pop piece, and in the chorus, Carey pays homage to our friend Dorothy with the lyrics: "When you're almost there/ And you're almost home/ Just open up your eyes and go"--reminding us of Dorothy closing her eyes and clicking her heels to get back home to Kansas.
