First Comes Love: Portraits of Enduring LGBTQ Relationships

The brainchild of Philadelphia photographer Barbara Proud (a.k.a. B. Proud), the First Comes Love book includes photographs and love stories that celebrate the lives and enduring relationships of LGBTQ couples from across the U.S. Just one element of the First Comes Love Project, a traveling exhibition of photographs, the love stories and video interviews document LGBTQ couples who have been together for 10, 20, 30, 40, and even 50+ years, and it includes notables such as Annise Parker (mayor of Houston), Edie Windsor, Kris Perry, and the Prop 8 plaintiff couples: Sandy Stier, Paul Katami, and Jeff Zarrillo.
