Trixie Mattel was the first queen to cross 3 million followers on the social network. In August 2024, Trixie broke even higher records by reaching 4 million Instagram followers and widening her lead as the most-followed RuGirl of all.

Plastique reached 2.7 million followers on Instagram in July 2024 while competing on All Stars 9, tying Katya as the second most-followed RuGirl on the social network. Since then, Plastique has surpassed Katya and crossed the 3-million mark that no other Drag Race star — except Trixie — has been able to reach.

As of this writing, Trixie leads the all-time Instagram followers ranking for Drag Race queens with 4.1 million, followed by Plastique with a current total of 3.1 million followers. The next two queens in the most-followed ranking are Katya (2.8 million) and Bianca Del Rio (2.5 million). Furthermore, Adore Delano and Violet Chachki are tied with 2 million followers each.

Plastique remains the most-followed Drag Race queen across all social networks, largely thanks to her 11.7 million followers on TikTok. It's also noteworthy that the RuGirls trailing behind Plastique on the video-sharing app aren't even close to surpassing her. For instance, season 15 stars (and real-life twins) Sugar and Spice are the runners-up with a following of 7.7 million people on their joint TikTok account — a difference of four million to catch up to Plastique.

It's no secret that Plastique had a rocky reality TV debut on season 11 of Drag Race. In episode 3, she was among the queens who survived the infamous "bottom 6" lip sync for your life that eliminated Honey Davenport. She subsequently won a design challenge but landed in the bottom once again after an improv challenge. After lip syncing for her life against Vanessa Vanjie Mateo, Mama Ru told Plastique to sashay away.

Plastique had a much better run on All Stars 9: she won four maxi challenges, earned four Beautiful Benefactress Badges, and didn't really struggle in any other challenge besides Snatch Game. While it's noteworthy that Plastique lost all five lip syncs she participated in, this queen's undeniable star power is evidenced by her massive online following across social networks. Now, she's also occupying a brand-new spot as the second Drag Race queen in herstory to cross 3 million followers on Instagram.

RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars is streaming on Paramount+.
