Katya is facing another health scare.
On Wednesday, RuPaul’s Drag Race star Katya Zamolodchikova released a statement canceling all engagements due to further health complications after taking time away from performing earlier this year.
“Katya will be taking time away from upcoming projects and live events so she can prioritize her health following recent medical complications. A full recovery is anticipated,” the statement shared on Instagram reads.
“With the support of her family, her team, and Trixie, she appreciates everyone’s patience and understanding during this time. Her fans have always been so gracious, and that means everything to her,” the statement continued. “For upcoming live events, ticket holders will receive additional details regarding their options shortly.”
The news of ongoing health issues comes after Katya announced in May that she had to have emergency abdominal surgery for a bowel obstruction in her small intestine, which she described as “absolute hell on earth” when she posted about it on Instagram.
“I had to do an emergency abdominal surgery,” Katya shared at the time. “There was a bowel obstruction in my small intestine. They had to decompress my stomach, flush out [my] intestines and remove and reattach a small part of my small and large intestine. I was in the hospital with an NG tube down my nose into stomach pumping fluid up and out of my body for 10 days without being able to eat or drink.”
The 44-year-old drag superstar also underwent hip replacement surgery in 2023 after spending years performing, and took time off in 2024 to enter treatment for addiction.
Katya shared her latest health update just one day before she and longtime collaborator and podcast co-host Trixie Mattel were set to kick off their Very Bald and Very Beautiful Tour in Oakland, California on Thursday. The U.S. tour was intended to go through March 2027 with nearly 20 live shows across the country.
The pair was also supposed to host a Halloween dance party in Boston on October 31.
With her latest announcement, Katya shared no details about the health crisis she is going through or when she would return to performing.
