Are they gonna fly from there!?

Mama Ru once said, “Drag is not a contact sport.”

On Saturday, November 25, two Filipina queens named Nique Manza and Izzy Xtra put together a lip sync number to “Fly” by Nicki Minaj and Rihanna. The performance included the two queens being hoisted to the ceiling and flying off the stage as soon as the chorus hits and Rih starts singing “to flyyy!”

As seen in a video shared by X (fromerly Twitter) user @diet_chola, the queens successfully “fly” above the audience as the chorus keeps going… until a cable snaps and they immediately fall to the ground. The X user who shared the video wrote:

“Omg I’m glad these queens were safe after falling.”

Thankfully, both Manza and Xtra do seem to be doing alright after their scary fall. On Tuesday, November 28, Manza shared a new Instagram picture of herself and Xtra, writing:

“We’re all good after the incident that happened last Saturday. We FELL but didn’t give up and never will. No one can stop us from showing what we love to do and making people smile and happy. To all those who sent us concerns and love, Thank you so much. Nothing to worry about. Mahal na mahal namin kayo. Double ingat na po kami next time. ILY ALL.”

Now we’re over here rooting for Ms. Minaj to watch this video and give these queens a shout-out. They just went through a near-death experience while lip syncing her song, so that would be pretty cool.

In the meantime: be careful out there, ladies!
