The reports of Queen Latifah’s death have been greatly exaggerated!
After a death hoax went viral online, the Girls Trip actress took time out to let her fans know that she’s “100 percent A-OK” in a video posted to her Instagram account.
“Good morning! It’s me, Latifah,” Queen Latifah said in the clip. “I’m 100 percent A-OK,” she said before blowing a kiss to the camera. “Can’t believe what you read on the internet or see. Can’t believe nothin’ now, right? I’m good. Peace.”
The 55-year-old star posted a second video where she reassured fans that she has yet to shuffle off this mortal coil, explaining that the video they may have seen on Facebook is “fake.”
Queen Latifah isn’t the only famous lesbian whose death has been faked online. A death announcement for basketball legend Sue Bird was posted on Facebook earlier this week, saying that she had “tragically passed away while en route to Hospice Care,” despite the fact that she is still very much alive.
Not only is Queen Latifah still alive, but she’s thriving in Hollywood. On March 4, it was announced that she has signed on to executive produce three new Lifetime original movies through her production company, Flavor Unit Entertainment.
Fans took the comment section to celebrate their fave celebrity still kicking and call out anyone who would make up a rumor like this.
One person wrote, "Idk what was said but keep her name out yalls mouth!!! Leave this Queen BE!"
"They better quit playing with the queen," another fan commented. "Glad that you’re well."
Someone else wrote, "Wait a minute! Who we need to fight?! Did they try to off the QUEEN?!?!"
