Doechii just came out… as a cat hater!
The “Anxiety” singer may have recently re-labeled herself as a lesbian, but she’s bucking that sapphic cat lady trope by announcing on social media that she’s not fond of the furry felines.
“People act like it’s a crime to dislike cats when they genuinely aren’t friendly animals,” Doechii wrote on Threads.
The 27-year-old Grammy winner said that "it’s rare that cats are immediately lovey,” and complained that if you want a snuggly cat, you have to go through “years of pain” and hard work earning their trust.
“They don’t wanna be domestic just leave em alone! Like it’s not organic I’m sorrryyy be fr it’s rare that cats are immediately lovey without years of pain and work put in, yall be scratched and beat tf up by your own animals I can’t lmaoooo,” she said.
Doechii immediately started getting dragged in the comments by women defending their love of cats. Fans proved her wrong by sharing photos of themselves cuddling with their fur babies and even pointed out why they don’t like dogs.
“In all seriousness, you don’t need to justify not liking cats by stating common misconceptions. You can just say you don’t like them,” one person wrote.
