Mitchell and Cameron are back! And the love is still there!
For the first time in two years, Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Eric Stonestreet, the actors who played long-time married couple Mitchell and Cameron on the beloved sitcom Modern Family, have met up in real life, and the reunion was just as sweet as you'd hope!
The two met up at Random Access, a Thai comfort food restaurant in NYC, and shared video and photos of their meeting on Instagram. Stonestreet called it "a meet-cute two years in the making," and added that he "missed this guy a lot."
In the first video, Stonestreet approaches Ferguson in Random Access. "Oh my god, hi!" Ferguson can't stop the smile from spreading across his face. Then Stonestreet turns the camera towards himself where he's embraced Ferguson and he says "it's been two years!"
There are also a few pictures of the two men embracing, showing off the handsome mustache Ferguson has grown since his time on the show.
"Hey, that's the red-headed guy from Modern Family!" Stonestreet shouts out of his car window at Ferguson and the busy New York City sidewalk in a second video. Ferguson, who was walking away, can't help but to turn around and smile. We've really missed these two!
Ferguson, who is gay in real life, and Stonestreet played the beloved married couple Mitchell Pritchett and Cameron Tucker for eleven seasons on ABC's Modern Family. Ferguson was nominated for five Emmys for his role, and Stonestreet was nominated for three, winning two awards for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series.
The couple was much lauded for their depiction of everyday married life for a gay couple on an ABC sitcom. They also adopted a daughter, Lily, and later another child, being one of the most visible examples of a gay family on TV for years.
While fans might be begging for the whole cast to reunite, this cute reunion will have to hold us over until then.
