"She needs to speak her truth, that's wonderful. I'm just afraid those Royals are gonna smoke her."
While one might still be trying to decide on what side to come down on in one of the biggest news stories of this week, if you're gay Leslie Jordan has already made that decision.
On Sunday, Meghan Markle and her husband Prince Harry sat down with Oprah Winfrey on CBS for a two-hour interview special. The segment has gone on to be the most-watched televised event since the Oscars last year and inspired countless headlines. In it, the couple gave a wide-ranging interview dropping bombshell after bombshell. According to them, how dark their son's skin might be was a topic of conversation among the Royal Family, and Markle was not allowed to get the support she needed when she had suicidal thoughts. In early 2020 the pair were stripped not only of the security provided to them by the Royal Family but also their financial allotment which eventually led them to take Tyler Perry's offer and live in one of his homes until they could figure out their next moves. The interview seemed to draw a line in the sand with Markle and Harry on one side and the "firm" behind the Royal family on the other.
According to Jordan, all the gays are on the side of Markle.
"Woohoo, shit's getting real," Jordan said in an Instagram video. After making himself into an acting legend on film and television over the years, during quarantine he's fashioned himself into an Instagram icon for his funny takes and uploads. "She needs to speak her truth, that's wonderful. I'm just afraid those Royals are gonna smoke her."
"I hope those kids know what those kids know what they are getting into," Jordan continued, referring to Markle and Harry. "But I will say this, listen: gays, we gays know drama better than anybody. We got her back. Yes m'am. Miss Markle the gays have got your back in this royal battle."
Well, you have your marching orders.
