First RuPaul, Now Michelle Visage Has Wiped Her Twitter Account

Michelle Visage and RuPaul

Ok, we need some answers.

Last week it was big news when RuPaul's Drag Race fans discovered that RuPaul was scrubbing his social presence. The competition show host went through and systematically deleted (or archived) every Instagram post. Shortly thereafter, he also changed his profile photo from one in drag to one out of it. His Twitter account was then similarly wiped, and even deleted though the star has previously said he loved the platform.

The occurrence caused a closer examination of the social media presences of some other Drag Race stars. Kameron Michaels was found to also have no tweets and Instagram posts but fans have reported that the performer's absence was not in connection with Ru's, and was instead a result of the star wanting to take a mental health break. Much has been said and reported about the toxicity of the Drag Race fandom and occasionally the show's former stars have stepped back from their social media profiles for their own sanity. Michaels returned to Twitter over the weekend posting about the ongoing global pandemic She also added in some All Stars 5 commentary saying she was afraid of competing against Shea Coulee. But on Sunday it seemed that another Drag Race staple had taken a step back.

Though her Instagram account is still up and in use, Visage's Twitter account has been completely wiped. While Out can find no definitive reason, some fans have said that this was also a mental health decision. Visage is currently on the judging panel of All Stars 5, will make an appearance as a judge on Canada's Drag Race, hosts the web show Whatcha Packin, and also has her own show How's Your Head Hun?. In an episode of that latter project, Visage posed as a virtual celebrant for the wedding of Finlay Wilson and Alan Lambie.
