Caitlyn Jenner Says It Would Be Hard to Watch Her Child Transition

Maybe we needed that third season of ‘I Am Cait’ after all.

In a new interview withGIBLIB, Caitlyn Jenner revealed that while her children were "very accepting" of her transition, she'd have a hard time if one of them was trans as well. Oh, Caitlyn.

Jenner shared how she explained to her 10 kids that she was transitioning, saying that she brought each one to her house individually to have a conversation with them. "I didn't want them to gang up on me," she said. "I thought I'd do it one at a time."

"We opened up this conversation with my kids," she added. "And it was great. They were all very accepting. And I moved on in my life."

But when asked how she would feel if one of her own kids came out as trans, the Olympian said she might not take it as well.

"Somebody in an interview said, 'Well, what if Kendall said she was trans and wanted to transition into a male?' I went, 'Ah, ah, ah!' As a parent I was like in shock. 'Are you kidding me? My little Kendall, she's the highest-paid model in the world. She's gorgeous,'" she said. "And it really kind of set me back, you know? And me, being in this position, I was like, shocked by my response."

But while accepting that her beautiful model daughter might hypothetically want to live authentically as male would be "tough," Caitlyn says she'd still be supportive. "I would never stop her. I would do everything in, I'm her parent. I would never stop her from doing it. I would have long conversations with it," Jenner said. "I think this is a tough road. But, yeah, I would probably, it would be really tough on me, yeah. Yeah, it would be tough. So I understand from a parent's standpoint."

As one of the most famous people in the world, Jenner could be a bit more responsible about not supporting the idea that parents of trans kids have to mourn their child's pre-transition identity. But maybe she would have learned that lesson on season three ofI Am Cait.
