Harry Styles Says He’d ‘Potentially’ Appear on Celebrity Drag Race
We know that there's a celebrity version of RuPaul's Drag Race coming next year (and the queens who will appear on it) but we have yet to learn which famous faces will get spackled with foundation and contour for the new series. But Harry Styles say he may be down to cover his brows with glue, pin on a wig, and strut down Ru's runway.
During an interview on Hits Radio Breakfast on Thursday, the topic turned to drag. "Have you heard about the RuPaul's Drag Race celeb version?" asked host Flyer East. "I think you need to get involved, Harry."
Styles hadn't heard that that was thing, but he was into the idea. "Potentially, yeah," he responded. "Why not?" The hosts then asked Styles what his drag name would be, but he said he's never "landed on the one, but I'll have a think and get back to you. There's too many options."
The celebrity version of the show is set to premiere in 2020, featuring three celebrity contestants in each episode who will compete for a cash prize donated to their favorite charity. They'll be assisted by some of the show's top talent, including Alyssa Edwards, Asia O'Hara, Bob the Drag Queen, Kim Chi, Monet X Change, Monique Heart, Nina West, Trinity the Tuck, Trixie Mattel and Vanessa Vanjie Mateo.
"Doing drag does not change who you are, it reveals who you are," RuPaul said in a statement about the show. "I can't wait for the world to see what happens when our celebrity contestants get all up in drags."
Styles, whose new music video "Lights Up" featured him getting cozy with both men and women, is just the kind of celebrity we'd like to see stumbling around in a pair of heels. Ru, make it happen!
