After a successful first issue, the indie fashion-oriented mag is looking to grow.
While it may derive its name from the colorful Clueless euphemism for gay men, the topics Cakeboyexplores carry far more weight than the toungue-in-cheek title might suggest. Founded by Sean Santiago, the new publication looks to discuss "masculinity, community and identity through fashion, art, design and culture. The stories," Santiago explains, "are political, global, and personal, allowing for complexities and complications, necessitating lots and lots of commas."
The reaction the first issue's limited run received was so positive that Santiago realized he had tapped into something exciting, inspiring him to push his project further. For the second issue, he's planning to double in size, drawing in more contributors and greatly expanding online and video content.
In order to make this happen, he's launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise the $5000 needed. Watch the video below, and make a donation.
