It's the last day of Lesbian Visibility Week and I want to shout out to all the lesbians in the Out readership! That includes lesbians who date trans men, lesbians who are trans, lesbians who are nonbinary, and lesbians who don't know exactly who they are.
I want to share this opinion piece I wrote last summer after Yellowjackets and Scream star Jasmin Savoy Brown said that she identifies as "both lesbian and pansexual" "depending on the moment and depending on the day."
There was immediate backlash saying that lesbians are only women who only date and sleep with women, and that if you are attracted to nonbinary or trans masc people, you are not a lesbian.
"The thing is, queerness is not black and white like that. Gender is not black and white like that. Not every trans person is 100 percent binary all the time, and that’s okay. The entire point of queerness is to not fit into heterosexual and cis-sexual norms and boxes," I wrote. "Some trans men are and have always been a part of the lesbian community. That is a simple fact that anyone who has been active in lesbian communities can tell you."
Remember, being a lesbian is about freeing yourself from not just the rules and forces that police society, but also the cop inside your own mind.
Now let's look at the news.

The Brazilian fans were coming out in support of Coachella breakout Ludmilla! @roobxs on Twitter posted an image of writer Bernardo Sim's perfect description of the singer and added "I thought this excerpt was simply perfect ♥️." So do we.

Gayest Song of the Week
Cakes da Killa is back with an all new album titled Black Sheep! I've been a fan of Cakes for around a decade, thanks to his song "I Run This Club," and this new album does not disappoint!
The song "Do Dat Baby" featuring former Danity Kane singer Dawn Richard is a standout track. "If you wanna do it gotta do it like that," Cakes raps in the song. "Bit that lip, arch that back/Rock them hips before you bang this track/Gotcha body soaking wet, sex appeal on tap."
