Despite having one of the most closely watched weddings in the country, Prop. 8 plaintiffs Paul Katami and Jeff Zarrillo never really got the wedding ceremony of their dreams. On the one year anniversary of the Supreme Court decision that overturned the discriminatory Prop. 8 law in California, the couple will walk down the aisle at the Hilton Hotels & Resorts at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, Calif.
The couple were legally wed at the Los Angeles City Hall by Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa (on his last day in office), after spending four years awaiting a verdict in their case.
Attorneys Ted Olsen and David Boies, who argued their case, will officiate at their June 28 wedding. "We want our wedding to be a celebration with family and friends, as well as those that supported us during our 4.5 year legal battle that won equal marriage rights at our nation's Supreme Court. Everyone dreams of their wedding day and we as gay Americans have to continue affirming that equality under the law should apply to all Americans. Our wedding is an opportunity to show that marriage is a fundamental, protected right and to reassure all those that live in states that prohibit marriage equality that their day is also coming," said Katami and Zarrillo.
Best wishes gentlemen!
