TV and musical theater star Wayne Brady looked snazzy in a mauve suit on the red carpet at the 67th Grammy Awards, and he took the time to chat with Out about his starring role on Broadway's latest production of The Wiz ahead of Sunday night's monumental ceremony.
"I got two favorite moments just off the top of my head," Brady began. "Favorite moment number one is what an amazing entrance. I've had a couple cute entrances in musical theater, like being Burr in Hamilton you're the first person on stage. Being Lola in Kinky Boots when the curtain happens, but to come out as The Wiz on a throne? There's flames? That was amazing."
He went on, "My second favorite moment in The Wiz is being able to backstage in the wings, watching Deborah Cox as Glinda sing. That, nightly, I would make sure that I was out there so I could see her numbers. Dreams come true."

Brady shared the stage alongside Cox, most known for her 1998 hit song "Nobody's Supposed to Be Here," when the iconic 1975 show reopened on Broadway last year. Nichelle Lewis, Melody A. Betts, Kyle Ramar Freeman, Phillip Johnson Richardson, and Avery Wilson also starred in the stunning production.
Brady appeared alongside Yolanda Adams, Deborah Cox, Scott Hoying, Angélique Kidjo, and Taj Mahal yesterday at the Grammy moving pre-show performance of "Bridge Over Troubled Water," a tribute to those affected by the Los Angeles wildfires.
