Luke Evans is sharing his heartfelt message to Tim Curry following his death.
Curry is a theater icon known for originating the iconic role of Dr. Frank-N-Furter in The Rocky Horror Show. Earlier this year, Evans stepped into the stiletto heels in a Broadway revival that received rave reviews from critics.
Since he was continuing the legacy of Dr. Frank-N-Furter, Evans sent Curry a message just before his time at Studio 54, where the production was staged, came to a close. As a touching tribute to Curry, Evans decided to share the letter with his followers on Instagram.
"I want to share it with you, he was a force, a bright fierce flame, an exquisite charm and that rich vocal tone, he was an inspiration to me and so many more people for the roles he played and the effect he had on so many of us," Evans told his followers Wednesday.
In his message to Curry, Evans wrote, "Although we've never met, you've been part of this journey from the very beginning. Every actor who puts on Frank inevitably walks into a conversation that started with you, and I've felt that every single night. There is, and will always be, only one Tim Curry."
"As this chapter comes to an end, I just want to say thank you," he added. "For your fearless performance, for creating something so enduring, and for inspiring generations of actors to be a little braver than they thought they could be."
The Rocky Horror Show is playing now on Broadway at Studio 54 through February 28, 2027. Read Evans's full statement ahead.
