Gay people can do anything these days, including star on Broadway! Actually...they were probably already doing that.
Jonathan Van Ness is the most recent star to round out the cast of Celebrity Autobiography, joining fellow Queer Eye guru Antoni Porowski, according to Broadway World.
The limited Broadway engagement, which began in November, features different stars reading from juicy celebrity memoirs by the likes of Britney Spears, Madonna, Burt Reynolds, Loni Anderson, Elizabeth Taylor, Debbie Reynolds, Sarah Palin, Miley Cyrus and Vanna White. The show, which began Off-Broadway, is transferring to the Great White Way for three special holiday performances. Two queens reading dishy excerpts from celebrity tell-alls on Broadway sounds like gay heaven.
JVN and Porowski join a star-studded rotating cast that includes Cecily Strong, Lewis Black, Tony Danza, Tate Donovan and Matthew Broderick. For the December 17 performance, Van Ness will appear alongside Porowski, Mario Cantone, Rachel Dratch, Susan Lucci, and Michael Urie.
This will be JVN and Porowski’s first time on Broadway, but who knows, it may not be their last. Porowski was an actor before he became an avocado expert and Van Ness is about to head out on his first comedy tour, Jonathan Van Ness: Road to Beijing. I smell a Tony!
