Season 3 of 9-1-1: Lone Star premiered with an explosive reveal for one of our favorite gay TV couples!
In the episode, we learned that TK and Carlos, affectionately known as "Tarlos" by their fans (including us), had broken up! While we still don't know why they ended things, and we're still hoping for them to get back together, we do know that next week, TK will fall through some ice and end up in the hospital (again), needing Carlos to come to his side (again).
Now that season 3 is coming to an end, we've seen the two of them get back together again, go through some extreme ups and downs, and have plenty of new adorable and sexy moments for us to love. Here are some of the highlights from this fan-favorite relationship!
TK and Carlos met in the pilot episode, after TK moved to Texas and joined his dad and the 126 at a honky tonk bar. Carlos didn't waste any time, asking TK for a dance as soon as he saw him.
Already in the second episode, we got to see TK and Carlos making out and hooking up. But back then, it was all about sex, at least for TK. While it was fun seeing them hook up, things got even better once feelings were involved.
After TK gets in a bar fight in episode 3, Carlos is the one who deals with him at the police station. The two get a moment to be truthful, with Carlos wiping the blood off of TK's lip and asking him to open up to someone, even if it's not him. That's when TK admits that before he came to Texas, he got dumped and relapsed. This moment moved their relationship from surface level to one with true feelings, and even the beginnings of love.
In episode ten, TK and Carlos are on a date after TK has gotten out of the hospital for being shot. Carlos confesses that when he saw him in the hospital bed, he "had all these feelings, strong feelings." He asks TK what they are, or even if they are anything. TK doesn't have an answer then, but later in the episode, after they've saved people from a bus crash that happened right in front of them, the two talk again while laying on the hood of a car.
"What are you thinking," Carlos asks.
"I'm thinking, we make a pretty good team," TK replies, before taking Carlos' hand.
In season 2, episode 4, TK and Carlos have a fight after they bumped into Carlos' parents at a farmer's market and he introduces TK as his "friend." Later, TK comes over to Carlos' house to talk it out. Carlos admits that coming out to his parents wasn't an easy process, and that it makes him nervous to talk to them about his personal life. They haven't even spoken about his sexuality since he was 17.
"I want you to know that I am fully on board," TK tells him. "You can tell your parents I'm your friend, your colleague, your personal shopper. I don't care. As long as you need."
In episode 10 of season 2, Carlos and TK move in together!
"Are you sure you're alright with having my exercise bike in the middle of your dining room," TK asks.
"It's our dining room now, TK," Carlos replies, kissing his boyfriend.
Season 2, Episode 12, "The Big Heat," will forever be a milestone in Tarlos history. In the episode, the two have a fight about Carlos' dad arresting TK's dad as part of the arsonist plot. But they get back together and have one of the sexiest, hottest hookups in TV history. As the two get steamier, their house ignites, the arsonist having planted traps throughout. All of this is happening while the song "Fever" plays, making it so much sexier. After they almost died while having sex in a burning house, TK and Carlos have to take a serious look at their lives, and what they mean to each other.
The third season started off with TK and Carlos broken up, and then things got even worse! After TK fell through the ice while trying to save a drowning child, he was in a coma for several days, and Carlos was left not knowing if he should mourn or be angry.
Then, in episode three, TK woke up, and his first words upon seeing Carlos were, "Hey, baby. Breathe." Carlos let out the breath he had been holding all episode and the two kissed and got back together.
After a few episodes, we found out that TK and Carlos had broken up because of an argument about signing a lease for an apartment together. TK had been afraid to go all in, but now with them back together, he was giving it another try.
When TK got out of the hospital, he found that Carlos had moved his stuff into the apartment they now own together. "Welcome home, TK," as Carlos said.
When one of the many, many women Owen hooked up with on the show ended up being a stalker, TK and Carlos got caught right in the crossfire. Carlos was helping her at their apartment when she slipped 70mg of Oxy into their pho, nearly killing them and putting TK back at day one of sobriety. At least this time they have each other to help make it through.
After pulling a lizard out of the leg of a man they rescued, TK decides to keep the lizard as his and Carlos' first pet!!! Carlos, on the other hand, hates lizards, and wants nothing to do with it. When the lizard got out of its cage, TK had to use all his charm and smooth moves to subtly get it off of Carlos' shoulder. Domestic life!
The moment we've all been waiting for! In the last ten minutes of the season three finale, TK woke up Carlos at 3 am with something he couldn't wait to ask.
"For the first time in my life, the love that I feel is infinitely more powerful than the fear of losing it," he says to Carlos. "And every moment that we're not married is a wasted moment, and baby, we only get so many."
"Tyler, can I say yes now?" Carlos interrupts. And just like that, our favorite TV couple is engaged!!!
