The first trailer of the upcoming second season of The L Word: Generation Q has dropped and we are gagging on all the dykey drama!
This clip gives us little glimpses at about a dozen different storylines, and every single one is juicy!
Showtime had previously announced the release date as August 8, but you can also watch two days early if you're a Showtime subscriber. Showtime will air the premiere on broadcast on Sunday the 8th, but Showtime subscribers can watch on-demand or streaming the Friday before (August 6).
Okay, now onto the plot. The first question we have is what's going to happen between Dani, Finley, and Sophie? The first season ended with Dani asking Sophie to elope with her, Sophie saying yes, and then, Sophie hooking up with Finley. The final scene saw Sophie running through the airport where both women were, and now, on August 6, we'll finally get to see who she chose.
There's also plenty of focus on Bette, who lost her election for mayor of Los Angeles and ended last season single and with the knowledge that Tina, her ex and the mother of her daughter, is getting remarried.
This is also where we get our first glimpse at Tina's new partner, Carrie, played by Rosie O'Donnell. "Tina has Carrie and she makes her laugh, and I have, that's right I have no one and I'm gonna die alone," Bette says. But is she? The next thing we see is Gigi, who was in a throuple with Alice and Nat last season, leaning in and kissing Bette.
Over on the Micah side of things, Leo Sheng's character is experimenting! "I gotta tell you something but you gotta not freak out," Micah says to his friend Dani. "I slept with a woman." You get it Micah!! After we found out that the man he was dating was actually married last season, Micah deserves some happiness, wherever he can find it!
Of course, Shane is up to classic Shane moves, sleeping with another woman's wife, flirting with everyone, and getting people to fall in love with her, all while running her lesbian bar with Tess (Jamie Clayton).
It also looks like we're getting some extremely sweet moments between Angie, Bette and Tina's teen daughter, and her "close friend" from last season, Jordi, played by trans actress Sophie Giannamore. There even appears to be a school dance! I love these teen queers!
That's only a part of the drama and intrigue that's included in the packed trailer! Watch below and tune in to Showtime on August 6 if you're a subscriber, and August 8 for everyone else to see all the juicy action.
