Looks like actor Johnny Sibilly has a new gig!
Known most recently for his role FX's Pose where he played Costas, lover of Billy Porter's Pray Tell that was suffering from AIDS-related complications, Sibilly has now been tapped to be the host of Logo TV's Logo Live digital series. The show is a "live rundown of the day's trending stories with celebrity guest interviews" according to a media alert and will stream on Logo TV's Instagram.
"I'm excited for Logo Live to be a place where queer artists get to come on and shine because they deserve," Sibilly tells Out. "We've got so many tastemakers and shakers in our LGBTQ+ family that having a space where they can come kick back and kiki is the priority.
"The pandemic is rough but we're resilient and I'm just happy to be a part of something that wants to honor justice and joy within our community," he continued.
It's quite apt that the performer has bagged the deal. For many of his fans, he's known just as much for his persona (or personas) on social media as he is for his onscreen gigs. In a teaser video, he nodded to that in fact. In a mock video conference, Sibilly appears as himself as well as four of the characters he's created that populate his Instagram feeds. The group bickers for a bit after Sibilly makes his announcement that he's the new host of the show.
In another promotional video the actor, who is also a producer, gives fans a little dance -- yes, he twerks -- among floating text announcing the show details.
Logo Live with Johnny Sibilly will premiere on December 1 and episodes will drop every Tuesday and Thursday.
