It looks like wedding bells are in the future for RuPaul's Drag Race U.K. Brit Crew member Matt Lister!
During the Virgin Atlantic Attitude Awards this week, Lister got the shock of his life after he was proposed to by his boyfriend.
Lister was onstage at the time, with Peppermint, Courtney Act, Miss Tess Tickle, and Cheddar Gorgeous to present the prize raffle draw when Ben, Lister's boyfriend, got down on one knee to pop the question.
"Matt, I love you with all my heart," he said. "Would you like to marry me?"
In September, Lister was announced as one of the first members of the Drag Race U.K. Brit Crew. Lister, who is also a multi-medal winning athlete, is seen accepting the proposal as the audience applauds.
"So I was expecting to write a cute post about how fab last nights @attitudemag awards were," Lister wrote in a post to Instagram. "Meeting icons and idols alike, fan girling left right and centre... But instead, my boyfriend and best friend asked me if I'd marry him, clearly I was the very last person in the room to catch up with what was actually happening but of course I said yes."
"@ben_fr_uk I'm not going to gush here too much because I know that's not your style at all. But I love you and I will never ever EVER forget this day... or that you still didn't put your hand in my bucket."
"I'm so overwhelmed, Ben you make me so happy and I cannot wait to spend the rest of our lives together xxxxxxxx."
The Virgin Atlantic Attitude Awards, powered by Jaguar, was hosted at London's Roundhouse venue in Camden, some of the world's biggest names packed out the event, which celebrates the best of the LGBTQ+ community and its allies. Sam Smith was honored as Person of the Year at the event and reflected on their "second coming out." Other winners of the night included Taron Egerton as well as French singer Christine and the Queens.
