Lewis Bailey made headlines when a day before his performance, Castle High School and Visual Arts College told him he would not be allowed to perform in drag at the school's talent show.
The 14 year-old, who describes himself as a "gender-bender," said he was "heartbroken and confused" when his school sprung the news on him.
The school claimed that performing in drag is illegal if you're under 18, which is why they had to cancel his performance.
However Lewis, who came out as gay to his mother and stepdad last year, feels that "the real reason is they don't accept me for who I am."
Well lucky for Bailey, the young gender-bender has been asked to perform in drag on a much bigger stage!
Lewis has accepted an invitation to perform at DragWorld UK, an event which calls itself "Europe's largest celebration of drag," to perform alongside Rupaul's Drag Race icons Jinkx Monsoon, Bebe Zahara Benet, and Farrah Moan.
Lewis could not be happier about his upcoming performance.
"I'm very excited about my DragWorld invite to perform and get my name out there so others just like me know that it's okay to be different," he told PinkNews.
Nathan Stone, the creative director of MJR Group - which is organizing DragWorld UK - said, "We are so excited to have Lewis and his family at our event."
Stone continued, "It is an absolute honor to showcase the great, young talent. We don't believe anyone should be told they can't be who they want to be!"
