The MTV Movie Awards stage has seen some fairly iconic moments -- Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling recreating their kiss from The Notebook, Eminem's feud with Triumph the Insult Comic Dog, that time Jim Carrey accepted an award in-character. This year's show, which is now being billed as the MTV Movie & TV Awards, will break new ground with Tiffany Haddish as the first black woman to ever emcee the show.

Haddish announced the news in characteristically hilarious style on Instagram.

Since the first MTV Movie Awards in 1992, only 11 women have hosted, and only six hosts have been people of color.

The MTV Movie & TV Awards will air Monday, June 18.
