Jonathan Van Ness Says “Thank U, Next” to Boyfriend

Ariana, give us strength.

Jonathan Van Ness and his boyfriend Wilco Froneman have been one of our favorite Instagram couples of 2018, so it's sad to say that they are apparently no longer together. Van Ness shared an Instagram post on Sunday making it clear that he is now single and moving on from his relationship.

"She taught me love, she taught me patience, how she handles pain, that shits amazing," the Queer Eye star wrote. "I've loved and I've lost but that's not what I see because look what I found ain't no need for searching, rounding out my 2018 with a very gorg THANK U NEXT," adding the hashtag #selflove. He also asked fans to be kind to his ex, posting a similar message to his Instagram story. "Please don't go in on Wilco, he doesn't need the anger [and] I don't want to see him suffer so just know I'm all good [and] sometimes people break up."

He's also deleted all of Froneman's photos from his Instagram account, so we're not sure if this was an amicable breakup and he just doesn't need to see that, or if things were uglier than his post lets on.

Van Ness and Froneman made headlines when they attended the Emmys together in September. From then on they seemed inseparable: Van Ness cheered his South African beau on as he played rugby and celebrated National Boyfriend Day by helping Froneman into his first pair of high heels. Well, he's loved and he's lost. In the immortal words of Kris Jenner, thank you, next, bitch!
