Rebel Wilson recently came under fire for claiming that she will be the first plus-sized woman to ever star in a romantic comedy.
While doing promotion for her upcoming film, Isn't It Romantic, Wilson said on Ellen, "I'm kind of proud to be the first-ever plus-sized girl to be the star of a romantic comedy."
Media outlets and rom-com fans were quick to point out that Wilson was completely neglecting prominent actresses of color like Queen Latifah and Mo'Nique, who have starred in rom-coms in the past.

“Another example of folx not counting anything until WW do it. Queen Latifah & Mo’Nique starred in hella rom-coms but this asshat has the Caucacity to say she’s the first.

And ironically, she isn’t even the first White woman. This omits Toni Colette, Nia Vardalos & *Ricki Lake*.”— Clarkisha Kent (@Clarkisha Kent) 1541095594
“Queen Latifah has been a visibly plus-size romantic lead since 'Living Single.' Not to mention 'Just Wright' and 'Last Holiday' which is PEAK rom-com.

But go off, sis.”— Britni Danielle (@Britni Danielle) 1541170597
Instead of acknowledging her mistake, Wilson doubled down on her comments and proceeded to block numerous black film critics on Twitter.
Now, however, she's issued an apology (likely because her PR team told her to). Wilson tweeted:

Years before Stonewall, a cafeteria riot became a breakthrough for trans rights
All about the Compton's Cafeteria riot, when drag queens and trans women rose up against police at a diner in San Francisco.
