The character will make her debut this December in an Arrow-verse crossover.

Back in August, the CW announced that Ruby Rose had been cast as Batwoman in the network's Arrow-verse. And in a huge step for representation, she would be fully depicted as the lesbian superhero us queer comic book nerds are dying for.

Now, the CW has graced us with a first look at Rose as Batwoman. The photo features her in full costume, spreading her cape on a metropolitan rooftop. The look is complete with a head of Jessica Rabbit red hair flowing out of her mask to compliment her dark red lipstick and bat emblem on her chest.

Rose will make her first appearance as Batwoman in an Arrow-verse crossover event this December. She'll then go on to lead her own Batwoman series, which is set for the 2019-2020 season at the CW. It will be the first live-action superhero TV series with a gay lead.

The Greg Berlanti show's official logline is:

"Armed with a passion for social justice and a flair for speaking her mind, Kate Kane soars onto the streets of Gotham as Batwoman, an out lesbian and highly trained street fighter primed to snuff out the failing city's criminal resurgence. But don't call her a hero yet. In a city desperate for a savior, Kate must overcome her own demons before embracing the call to be Gotham's symbol of hope."

See Ruby Rose as Batwoman in a three-night CW crossover event, with The Flash on Sunday, December 9 at 8pm, Arrow on Monday, December 10 at 8pm, and Supergirl on Tuesday, December 11 at 8pm.
