To quickly recap, Lorde has a condition called synesthesia, which causes her to see colors when she hears music. Bleachers' Jack Antonoff co-wrote and produced her pivotal sophomore album, which features some of the Great Songs of All Time, but most importantly, our National Anthem, "Green Light." Lorde also elaborated being trapped on the New York subway system for four hours with oatmeal in her backpack.

When singing "Perfect Places," the New Zealand-born singer wore a sparkly black bodysuit and flowing pants, and was backed by a tracksuit-clad children's choir, who added acapella inflections to the hopeful youth anthem.
