The controversial photo shoot continues to plague the comedian’s life.

A month after Kathy Griffin posed for a life-altering photo depicting her holding up a severed head in the likeness of Donald Trump, the comedian is still under investigation by the Secret Service.

According to political reporter Yashar Ali, Griffin recently spent more than an hour in an in-person interview with the presidential security and their investigation into her remains open.

In a press conference held after the photo was already pulled and Griffin had been fired from her New Year's Eve gig at CNN, the comedian was in tears, unsure if her career would survive the fallout. "He broke me," she admitted, but she refused to be intimidated, saying: "I'm not afraid of Trump. He's a bully. I've dealt with older white guys trying to keep me down my whole career."

The main controversy related to the photo came in a tweet from Donald Trump, where he claimed his 11-year-old son, Barron, had seen the image on the television and thought it was real. Soon, nearly every member of Trump's family got in a dig at Griffin via social media, and conservatives from across the country were quick to condemn the extreme satire.
