Megan Mullaly Brought to Tears By Interaction With Obama, Regrets Performance With Trump (Watch)

"I said, 'Listen. I really love you, and we don't want you to go.' And he gave me a hug and he said, 'We're not going anywhere.'"

Megan Mullaly stopped by The Late Show last night to talk with Stephen Colbert about her interactions with President Obama and President-elect Trump.

"I said all day that I'm going to cry," she said, speaking about her recent visit to a White House holiday party. On meeting Obama, she explained:

"He shook my hand, and made a joke, and was charming and amazing. And I said, 'Listen. I really love you, and we don't want you to go.' And he gave me a hug and he said, 'We're not going anywhere.' And he walked out the door, and, I mean, I'm not talking about the cute, single tear. I mean burst into wrenching sobs. That's the greatest President and First Lady in any of our lifetimes."

Colbert then brought up a not-so-fond memory of Trump and Mullaly performing together at the 2006 Emmys.

"See this photo?" Mullaly gestured. "Otherwise known as my suicide note."

When Colbert asked if Mullaly would be receiving a cabinet position, she replied aptly: "Do you have a barf bag back there?"
