Do you like Entourage, but find the characters too grounded and likable? Then let me introduce the trailer for Zac Efron's upcoming film, We Are Your Friends.
In the Max Joseph-directed flick, Efron plays Cole, an aspiring DJ who'll do anything to get out of the Valley--besides go to college or find a job elsewhere. He hopes that with a single, stellar hit he can rocket to EDM stardom and better his station in life.
He might actually make it, too. An older DJ, played by Wes Bentley, takes a liking to Cole, and mentors the aspiring disc jockey. But he also seems to have taken an interest in Cole's girlfriend (Emily Ratajkowski). And there's the obligatory stardom vs. friendship drama between Cole and his buddies.
First off all: Kids, go to college. It's way better plan than trying to invent the next Instagram or be the next Avicii. So just take the fucking SATs.
Secondly, as a millennial, let me be one of the first to try and distance my generation from this self-indulgent filmic dumpster fire. We are a hardworking, creative group and who are all too often painted as lazy and self-absorbed. We deserve better!
