Ricki and the Flash is one of the most hotly anticipated films of Summer 2015. Meryl Streep has transformed herself, yet again, and will play Ricki, a musician who's spent more time with her band than with her family.
Ricki reunites with the family she left behind and attempts to heal old wounds as the family goes through turmoil.
Our expectations are pretty high, considering that Diablo Cody penned the script and Jonathan Demme is directing the project.
Streep--who sang in Into the Woods, Mamma Mia!, and Postcards from the Edge--has proven that's she's got the pipes for the role, so if nothing else, we're buying our tickets just to watch Streep perform song rock classics.
Ricki and the Flash hits theaters August 7.
