Laverne Cox Cast in CBS Drama Pilot

Congratulations to actress and activist Laverne Cox! She has been cast in CBS's legal drama pilot Doubt.

The show comes from Joan Rater and Tony Phelan, of Grey's Anatomy, and will focus on an attorney who gets romantically involved with one of her clients, who may be a vicious criminal.

Cox's character is Cameron Wirth, a transgender attorney with an Ivy League education, according to Variety. Cox is the first openly transgender actor nominated for an Emmy Award, for her role in Orange Is the New Black--to which she'll also return for the third season this summer on Netflix.
