Back in August, Rentboy.com became the subject of a modern day witch-hunt when seven of its employees (including the CEO) were arrested during a raid. Federal agents investigated the company for money laundering and state prostitution, forcing them to shut down.
Although the gay online escort service is no more, having become a martyr in the growing battle for sex workers' rights, you can still own a piece of its history. In support of the Rentboy Legal Defense Fund, the company's New York office will host an auction of various pieces of "art," including promotional posters from the website's two decades of business. (And before you ask, no the auction does not include any of the company's former "services.")
Stop by the auction at 6 W. 14th Street, Suite 4W in New York City between noon and 7 p.m., Dec 20 & 23. For those outside of New York who want to get in on the action, there are items available on eBay.
