Next summer, much like this one (thanks, Jurassic World) will be one of nostalgia. The sequel the 1996 blockbuster, Independence Day, will be attempt to become the new throwback box office king. Independence Day: Resurgence, starring Liam Hemsworth and Jeff Goldblum, takes place 20 years after the events of the first film, in a present day where a global threat has united world leaders and alien technology has advanced our civilization.
