Logo to Air Matthew Shepard Documentary

Matthew Shepard

Along with the recent Gays in Prison doc, the Viacom network is tackling serious topics.

It seems that Logo is trying to be more than just RuPaul's Drag Race and...whatever else is on Logo besides Drag Race.

As part of its documentary series, the network will air a feature about Matthew Shepard and has already featured one on the LGBT prison experience, titled Gays in Prison.

Tonight, 17 years after Matthew Shepard's tragic death, Logo will air Matt Shepard is a Friend of Mine a documentary made with Matthew's parents and friends.

Directed by filmmaker and childhood friend of Matthew, Michele Josue, the film features touching interviews with his friends and family, never-before-seen photos, and rare video footage of Matthew.

Matt Shepard Is a Friend of Mine airs Monday, October 12 at 9/8c. Watch a clip below:

Logo is also tackling the issues faced by LGBT prison inmates.

Gays in Prison: Experiences in the Cell premiered on Friday. Featuring Latrice Royale, a former competitor on Drag Race, who candidly opened up about his time spent in prison during his time on the show, the short documentary tackled issues faced by queer inmates.
