Comedian Dana Goldberg is an expert at harnessing the power of humor for good, having spent years hosting high-profile fundraisers to benefit the LGBTQ+ community in addition to spreading cheer at her stand-up shows. This year, the cohost of the popular political podcast The Daily Beans has been helping organizations like Lambda Legal combat discriminatory executive orders, such as the one banning transgender service members, and developing performance projects that center queer stories.
Goldberg says that like other artists and storytellers, she’s empathic by nature. And although it takes resilience “to get up each day and still make the world laugh,” she's driven to reach communities who look to her for “levity and hope.”
To those seeking to strip away LGBTQ+ rights, her message is one of defiance. “You will never take our joy and our fight. We will continue to throw bricks … and rechalk our crosswalks. And will be louder and more outspoken than ever. We will dance in the streets, tell our stories on-screen, and continue to show the world that we aren’t going anywhere.” @dgcomedy
