New York-born and London-based designer Conner Ives is known for his bold and sustainable fashion. The designs he created have made their mark at the Met Gala, including model Adwoa Aboah’s 2017 upcycled swan-esque look and Natalia Bryant’s 2021 bubble gown made of recycled PET plastic. The innovative designer has also worked with Fenty and Rihanna and launched his own label.

This year, Ives went viral for his “Protect the Dolls” tee. Celebrities including Pedro Pascal, Charli XCX, Alan Cumming, Laverne Cox, and Troye Sivan wore the shirt to call attention to these dangerous times for transgender people. Sales from his shirt have raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for Trans Lifeline. Ives also materially supports trans people, financially backing creations from artists like Gogo Graham and Marley Gotterer.

“This t-shirt has changed my life, and I’m hoping it will in due course change so many others,” Ives shared on Instagram. “In times like these where every day feels more perilous than the last, I am moved by the humanity of this movement and what it has made possible. This is only the beginning.” @connerives
