Queer Eye's culture expert takes over Meghan Trainor’s #NoExcusesPlaylist this week.

As a cultural tool, I believe music can be used not only as a form of entertainment but be used as a tool to feel inspired to become a better person and go after your dream. My playlist, which is inspired by Meghan Trainor's track "No Excuses," is also about exposing the audience to music that will encourage self-growth and inspire you to go after your dreams. The "Hustle & Soul" playlist is a mixture of classic and modern hip-hop and soul music that will have you feeling good and invincible.

At the core of soul music and hip-hop has always been an underlying theme of how to overcome personal issues or everyday life challenges. This is the playlist you put on when you are ready to get up, get going and make things happen in your life. Hustle & Soul is the epitome of my taste in music and I hope it will become yours too.

Take Jazmine Sullivan's classic song "Dream Big," for example. This song is about something so personal yet so universal: our dreams. We have all wanted to accomplish something in our lives that we are scared to go after. What this song does is inspire you to get up and take a chance on yourself. This song is all about making a plan, executing that plan and asking for help along the way. It's a reminder that you deserve to follow your dreams and to achieve them.

Press play, follow your dreams, and keep it fabulous.
