Hello Out readers, the Out100 is here!
This week at Out.com, we unveiled the 2024 Out100, led by cover star Cynthia Erivo, who will be stepping into the black shoes of Elphaba in Wicked this November.
"It's hard to talk about Elphaba as an other without having it intrinsically linked to being a woman who walks through the world as a queer Black woman. Immediately I understood what it meant for people to look at you and see you as not beautiful, not acceptable, not any of those things, because I walked through the world like this," Erivo says in the cover story about her new role. "And having to find a way to not necessarily be OK with it but be OK with yourself enough so that when other people put that on you, you can still move through it."
The 2024 Out100 also features artists like Katy O'Brian, Nymphia Wind, Auli'i Cravalho, Victoria Monet, Jessica Gunning and Maren Morris, disrupters like Pabllo Vittar, Harper Steele, Ncuti Gata, Cole Escola, and Nava Mau, storytellers like Mark Cortale, Ron Nyswaner, Justin Torres, and Brittani Nichols, innovators like Trixie Mattel, Kaeden Kalaqtic, Ernesto Apreza and Johann Moonesinghe, groundbreakers like TS Madison, Jodie Foster, and Sen. Laphonza Butler, and educators like Channyn Lynne Parker, Esera Tuaolo, Nina West, and Nick Adams.
Check out the whole list today! And keep reading to find out the gayest song of the week!
