Ford Responded to Homophobia With a Very Gay Rainbow Truck
Ford isn't here for homophobic comments!
When someone commented about the new Ford Ranger Raptor truck in Germany with an anti-gay slur, Ford responded in just the right way.
According to Ford, "the #VeryGayRaptor was initially created digitally" after someone on social media described a blue-colored version of the popular truck "very gay."
But a virtual model of the popular truck wasn't enough for Ford. They decided to "take it one step further" and "created a very real, #VeryGayRaptor foiled in gold and rainbow colors."
They even put a little heart around the Ford logo on the back.
The Very Gay Raptor toured through the streets of Cologne, Germany, in celebration of Christopher Street Day, the Berlin Pride celebration, and to show homophobic commenters that their words sometimes have some pretty gay consequences.
While the Very Gay Raptor is certainly colorful, it's not the first of rainbow Pride-colored vehicles on the road. Perhaps the most famous of these gay modes of transportation is Priscilla, the aging bus seen in the iconic 1994 film The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert.
Not wanting to miss out on celebrating Pride, luxury auto brand Bentley also introduced a rainbow Pride-themed car of their own last year.
Here's to celebrating German Pride and Ford for showing the haters how to turn a homophobic slur into one very gay moment!
