Mj Rodriguez Loses MTV Award to Noah Centineo in Pride Month Travesty

Mj Rodriguez loses 2019 MTV Movie & TV Award to Noah Centineo.

Haven’t the gays suffered enough??

First Taylor Swift's incoherent mess of song, and now this? Haven't the gays suffered enough??

Mj Rodriguez lost her category at the 2019 MTV Movie & TV Awards, CNN reports. The Pose star, who plays ferociously devoted house mother Blanca Evangelista on the FX ballroom drama series, was nominated for Breakthrough Performance at the network's annual ceremony, which aired Monday night. Her competition included Awkwafina from Crazy Rich Asians, Haley Lu Richardson from Five Feet Apart, Ncuti Gatwa from Sex Education, and Noah Centineo from To All the Boys I've Loved Before.

Rodriguez ended up losing out to Centineo, who also won the award for Best Kiss with fellow Netflix co-star Lana Condor. Other big winners of the night included Avengers: Endgame, which took home Best Movie, Best Hero, and Best Villain; and A Star Is Born, which won Best Musical Moment and Best Performance in a Movie for Lady Gaga. You can check out the full list of winners here.

While it sucks that Rodriguez didn't take home what was rightfully hers, the actress, who graced one of the three covers for Out's June/July "Pride" issue, will surely have plenty more opportunities to do so in the future. According to her Instagram, Mj has been submitted for consideration for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series at the 71st Primetime Emmys, which will be held in Los Angeles on Sept. 22. Not to tell the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences what to do, but consider her please!!
