These Colombian Couples Staged a Kiss-In for LGBTQ+ Rights

"Taking up space," is a phrase that's used quite a bit today when it comes to types of activism and representation. Well, in South America, a group of protestors certainly did that in a kiss-in at the Andino shopping center in Colombia,

As a response to reports that two men were harassed and fined for showing affection to one another in public, dozens of people coupled up in same sex pairings to make out on Wednesday to protest what happened. They also waved flags and yelled chants in support of gay rights. Titled a besaton, the event has happened before in other South American countries.
