Longtime LGBTQ+ activists have organized a mass demonstration scheduled for spring that The Washington Bladesays will be "the first-ever national march for trans rights." From the where and the when to the what and the why, here's everything you need to know about it.

WHAT IS IT
The National Transgender Visibility March is a demonstration on Washington for trans rights organized by a team of activists that includes Marissa Miller, Luckie Alexsander, and Aryah Lester. "Members of the transgender and gender non-conforming communities will take a major stand against hate and discrimination when they rally in the nation's capital for the first-ever National Trans Visibility March on Washington," reads a statement from the organizers, per The Advocate.

It's currently scheduled for Sunday, March 31 -- which happens to be Trans Day of Visibility, a day that, per TDOV's official website, was created by a Michigan activist named Rachel Crandall in 2009 to "celebrate the trans community in a positive light" -- and Monday, April 1.
