For anyone who defends their anti-gay parenting rhetoric claiming that children who have gay parents won't get as much love or support as other children who grow up with heterosexual parents, you're not only hateful, you're also wrong.
A new study that Attitude also pointed out, coming from the Journal of Developmental & Behavioral Pediatrics conducted by Wolters Kluwer actually proved that children with queer parents were in no way, shape, or form disadvantaged growing up for having less "traditional" parents.
"Our findings suggested that children with same-sex parents fare well, both in terms of psychological adjustment and prosocial behavior," said Professor Roberto Baiocco, PhD, from the Sapienza University of Rome.
The study looked at Italian families, ranging from gay dads, lesbian moms, and straight couples as parents of children aged three to 11. The parents all took a survey, indicating their own levels of success as a family.
"The present study warns policy-makers against making assumptions on the basis of sexual orientation about people who are more suited than others to be parents or about people who should or should not be denied access to fertility treatments," Baiocco said.
